Two sculptural pieces for the Jets' London game activation
A classic London red phone booth and a New York apple. Manufactured overseas, freighted to the US, on the team's truck to London.
The brief
We designed and produced two large-format sculptural pieces for the Jets' fan activation around their NFL London game — a classic London red phone booth and a New York apple, both finished as photo-moment anchors for the team's presence in London.
The concept did the heavy lifting. Two icons, one from each city, sitting side by side. The Jets coming to London, but bringing a piece of New York with them — and meeting London halfway with its own most-photographed object, reimagined.
Designing the moment
We designed both sculptures around fan-photo sightlines first. Where does someone stand to take the picture? What's behind the piece in that frame? How does it read from twenty feet away, ten feet away, arm's length?
The apple had to feel like an apple, not a logo — solid, weighted, sized so an adult could lean against it without it looking small in the photo. The phone booth had to feel like a real London phone booth — the K6 red one everyone knows. We worked the proportions and the red against reference photography of the originals, not stylized renderings of them. Both pieces had to read as the real thing, scaled up.
Manufactured with global partners
Large-format fiberglass sculpture is a specialty production category. We worked with a global fabrication partner we've used for years on dimensional pieces of this scale — a shop equipped to sculpt from foam, cast in fiberglass, and hand-finish to brand standard.
The color work mattered as much as the sculpting. The London phone booth red is a specific red — close enough to a dozen other reds that the wrong one would look obviously off to anyone who's been to London. We sampled against reference until the finish read correctly under both daylight and stadium lighting.
Logistics from manufacturing to handoff
The pieces had to be on the ground in the US in time for the team to take them to London. We handled everything between the fabricator's floor and the team's freight handoff — crating engineered around each sculpture's geometry, sea freight booking, customs documentation, port-to-warehouse coordination on the US side, and timing against a game date that wasn't going to move.
By the time the team picked them up, the pieces were palletized, inspected, and ready to load. The international leg was theirs. Everything before it was ours.
The outcome
Both pieces anchored the Jets' fan activation through London game week. Photographed extensively by fans on-site and captured in broadcast coverage. The sculptures came back stateside and get pulled out for activations around major team moments.
