Lanyards and lapel pins for FOX's Super Bowl LIX program

Sample. Approve. Produce. Deliver on time. No room to miss any of the four.

The brief

We produced custom lanyards and lapel pins for FOX's Super Bowl LIX program. Small pieces, enormous stage. The design was set. Our job was to make sure the production matched it — and that everything was on-site days before kickoff.

There's no version of this job that ships "pretty close." Either it's right on the date, or it's not.

Sampling until it was right

Both pieces went through a full sample process before production. On the pin, that meant proofing the die-struck metal, the enamel fills, the silver finish on the Lombardi trophy, and the polish on the edges — every color, every level, every plating spec. On the lanyards, it meant dye-sub print samples against the actual logo file to confirm the LIX wordmark reproduced cleanly across the full color range on black satin.

We didn't move to production until the samples were signed off. That was the whole point of the sample round — to absorb the risk before the production run started, not after.

Sourcing the right specialist

Die-struck enamel pins are a craft category. The difference between a good pin manufacturer and a great one shows up in the edges, the polish, the way the clutch sits flush, and the way the metal frames the enamel fill. We've worked with a specialty pin maker for years and brought them in for this.

The lanyards were dye-sublimation printed on black satin so the ornamental LIX logo reproduced cleanly across the full color range — woven construction couldn't have rendered the swirl detail. Hardware was sourced separately.

Delivering on time

Once samples were approved, production moved. Every piece had to be made, inspected, packed, and on-site before Super Bowl week. We managed the timeline backwards from the delivery date — production windows, inspection windows, shipping windows — so the program landed where it needed to be, when it needed to be there.

The outcome

Delivered on time. Used throughout Super Bowl week.
